The Santa Catarina State Environmental Council (“Consema”) approved Consema Resolutions 250 and 251 of 2024, repealing Consema Resolutions 97 and 98 of 2017, which regulated environmental licensing in the State.
Published today in the Official Gazette of Santa Catarina, the new Resolutions updated the list of activities or projects that may cause environmental impact, based on a survey carried out by the Council’s Technical Chambers over a period of 2 years. New technical definitions and changes to licensing procedures were also added.
While Consema Resolution 250 of 2024 addresses general issues of environmental licensing, Consema Resolution 251 of 2024 deals specifically with municipal environmental licensing.
