São Luís in Maranhão was the most recent destination on the national agenda of workshops on the General Environmental Licensing Law (LGLA), and this time, the meeting took place with the team from Alumar, one of the largest industrial operations in the country.
During the workshop led by Alexandre Sion, the group delved into the most practical and sensitive layers of the new legislation: what the new legal framework effectively delivers in terms of predictability and regulatory efficiency, where there are still gaps that require complementary regulation, and what the concrete legal and operational risks are for large-scale industrial activities during this transition period.
