First day of COP 30 marked by significant discussions and networking! Following the presentation “Local Governments for Climate: Towards an Inclusive Energy Transition” at the Amazon Climate Hub, Alexandre Sion participated in the program at Casa Sustentabilidade Brasil, the official space of the Government of Espírito Santo at COP30, where he moderated a panel and delivered the presentation “From the Rural Environmental Registry to Climate Action”.
Closing out the day, Alexandre also participated in the ICLEI event, during the launch of the “Urbanization Neighborhood” project, held in the Blue Zone, an official UN area and the hub of international discussions at COP 30. The meeting, hosted at the Cities and Regions Hub, brought together the governor of Pará, the Minister of Cities, and representatives from various countries, including the Secretary-General of ICLEI, in a dialogue about urban sustainability and international cooperation.
The agenda remains intense today and in the coming days, with new participants and discussions about the future of energy, climate, and sustainability.
